Objective:
The National University of Catamarca has, as one of its main objectives, to be part of the world through an exchange policy which involves students, teachers and researchers. Foreign visitors are offered a wide range of graduate and posgraduate careers thus allowing University members to develop learning activities in other countries.
For this reason, our University Community is part of National and International Universities all over the world, promotes teachers and students’ mobility and exchange, participates in international forums and fosters cooperation initiatives with prestigious institutions.
Exchange mechanism for teachers and students:
There are two mechanisms enabling teachers and students’ mobility and exchange. UNCa has signed agreements with foreign Universities promoting students’ mobility. On the other hand, it is involved in University networks which make possible teachers and students’ mobility.
a) Teachers and Students’ Mobility Program.
International Academic Networks
1. Hispano – American University Group “La Rábida”
The Hispano-American University Group “La Rábida” has its roots in the Cooperation Agreement signed in 1995 by several universities in the Hispano-American Seat of Santa María de la Rábida, International University of Andalucia (Spain), being duly constituted on April 4th, 1997 in Catamarca (Argentina) under the name of “La Rábida Group”.
In February, 2005 it is refounded and changes its naming by “Hispano-American University Group La Rábida”. The Group is registered in the National Registry of Associations belonging to the Ministry of the Interior under Nº 584442. Its purpose is to promote academic, scientific, technological and cultural cooperation, thus strengthening university bonds and integrating Hispano-American towns.

At this moment, UNCa is negotiating its admission into this Association..
b) Students’ Mobility
|
UNCa participates in this Program (PIMA) within the Net of Law Students Interchange (RIEDE). This Net is composed of the following Universities: Pablo de Olavide (Spain), Universidad Católica Pontificia (Peru) and Universidad del Estado de Amazonas (Brazil). Through this mechanism UNCa has received 3 students from these Universities and, at the same time, has sent 3 students from the Law School to study – for a 5-month-period - law related subjects which will be later academically credited.
Besides, UNCa has already requested its participation in other nets of PIMA so as to allow students’ mobility in other areas.
c) Steps towards Unca’s participation in other Students’ Exchange Programs
c.1. Program of Students’ Mobility JIMA
UNCa is negotiating its incorporation to the “Mexico-Argentina Youth Exchange Net” (JIMA). JIMA Program for university students exchange between Universities from Argentina and Mexico is born out of an agreement signed in the year 2004 between the University National Council of the Argentine Republic (CIN) and the National Association of Universities and Institutions for College Education of Mexico (ANUIES).
c.2 International Association for Students’ Exchange for Technical Experience (IAESTE)
This program belongs to the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Nation. Its aim is to offer technical training to university students of technological careers through internships in companies or institutes involved in the technological scientific system. It is a concrete professional practice that supplements the students’ academic education thus facilitating their future incorporation into the labor world in their country.
